At present we have 4 music teachers offering classes on many different instruments and two dancing teachers who offer classes to beginners and advanced students. Two years ago we purchased a variety of musical instruments which we offer to our members on an Instrument Loan Scheme from September to May, this gives them the opportunity to find out if they enjoy learning on that particular instrument before purchasing their own.  The scheme has proved very popular and we hope to continue to add more instruments each year.  We have also organised workshops in Sean Nos Dancing and Singing, which were held in Castlemaine Community Centre.

The inaugural meeting of a new branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann was held in Ballyfinane Hall on Tuesday December 3rd 2002.  Treasa Ferriteur, Runai and Denis Courtney Vice Chairman of the County Board of CCE attended the meeting. Breandan Ferriteur also attended.  It was decided to call the new branch "Craobh Sliabh Mish".  It was suggested to have delegates from Inch, Keel, Castlemaine, Firies and Farranfore and they would be of great benefit in suggesting and co-ordinating activities in each area. A new committee was elected on the night. In our first year we had 47 senior members and 86 junior members, this year 2008/9 we have 41 senior members and 119 junior members.

Over the years we have taken part in many competitions, local, county and All Ireland and have had success in different areas.  Our members have taken part in Ceol an Gheimreadh, Feile Feabhra, Sult na Nog, Causeway CCE Feis, County Fleadh, Munster Fleadh and All Ireland Feadh, as well as Scor and Community Games Competitions. Our members and friends have provided seisiuns on the gig rig at County, Munster, and All Irelands Fleadh Ceol and on many different local festivals e.g. Listowel Harvest Festival.

At branch level we have organised many events, our seisiuns have been very successful and children and adults take part.  We hold an annual fund raising concert and table quiz, money raised from these have been used in our branch to finance our different classes or donated to different charities e.g. St Mary of the Angels, Neil Mellon Township Appeal, Special Olympics, Goal etc.  To fund raise we have also done bag packing and gone out on the "Biddy".
