Lixnaw History PDF Print E-mail

Comhaltas was founded in Lixnaw in February 1960 and has been to the forefront in promoting Irish traditional culture since then.

We feature two festivals annually - Feile Cheoil Leac-Sna, which was first held in 1962 and Feile Feabhra, first held in 1990, which is now a must for all novice competitors.

Comhaltas Leac-Sna are very lucky to have their own building, namely Ceolann, built in 1985 and now holds classes in all aspects of our culture six days a week.

Comhaltas in Lixnaw was founded by the late Diarmuid O'Cathain who went on to become president during the late '80s and early '90s.
